(Dobbins) RodMob contributor Mike Smart found nice Bullards Bar kokanee action for his grandson.
“We found easy limits of kokanee at Bullards,” said Smart. “Sixty feet deep and anything on pink scored well. Nothing over twelve inches, but its easy to get into a lot fish.”
“Go deep for decent bass action,” reported Jack at Johnson’s Bait and Tackle. “Points and rocky structure is a good tactic, look for water 40-80 feet deep. Plastics in morning dawn, green pumpkin are always good – whether its jigs or Senkos.”
“Wacky action is an option, but you will need some weight to get as deep as needed. Swimbaits are also known to produce on occasion this time of year, “he added.
‘We saw another side-catch kokanee at Englebright,” said Lisa Rogers at Skippers Cove Marina. “It was just over sixteen inches and caught not far from the buoy line; however, most anglers are finding trout action upriver in the cooler water pulling Rapalas.”
Bullards Bar is at 49% capacity, while Englebright stands at 93% of capacity.
