Catfish And Black Bass Lead Delta Angling Parade
Salmon anglers continue to try their luck on early season salmon, while others focus on catfish and bass in the backwaters of Rio Vista.
Some salmon were being landed from the mouth of the Old Sacramento River up to the Isleton Bridge this week, according to the prostaff at Fisherman's Warehouse.
"The bites are few and far between, but every so often a pod of fish moves through and they're really bright," said Craig Kamikawa, assistant manager. K14 Kwikfish and silvertrons were Kamikawa's recommendations for trolling.
Catfish and black bass continued to entice anglers to Brannan Island, where Karen Pate of Rio Vista Bait and Tackle noted good fishing.
"The bass are hitting on spinnerbaits and senkos. Catch catfish with clams and anchovies," she tipped. "There's some stripers, but lots of small ones and not many keepers."
Few trollers were working the area, with Pate recommending the West Bank down to Sherman Island.Back To Reports
