Decker Island The Hot Spot For Stripers
Anglers continue to chase striped bass and salmon, while some anglers look to score sturgeon.
Both sturgeon and striped bass were biting for anglers around Decker Island this week, according to Kang Gervinder at Rio Vista Bait and Tackle.
"More and more guys are out fishing for stripers, they're doing good on fresh shad, and both blood and pile worms,” Gervinder said. "Not many trollers are out for stripers, but there's a lot of guys still trolling for salmon. Kwikfish, silvertrons and blue fox spinners in size 6 are working well."
Gervida noted that some anglers were trying their hand at sturgeon fishing this week, with some having some success.
"Sturgeon are being caught on ghost shrimp. Not many guys are using eel. Try fishing by the powerlines and Sherman Island. They're doing good around Collinsville and PIttsburg too," he related.Back To Reports
