(Antioch) “Trout fishing continues to be good,” reported Pete Alexander of the East Bay Regional Park District. “Trout are biting at the East Shore, Channel Point, or near the Swim Lagoon on Power Bait or nightcrawlers."

Catfish action has slowed down. Alexander recommended fishing at Channel Point or near the Swim Lagoon with nightcrawlers, anchovies, shrimp, or chicken livers.

Big rainbow honors go to Dan Carroll, who caught a 6.6 lb. and 8.2 lb. trout on Power Bait near the Swim Lagoon. Arturo Piatos Jr. also had a good day when he fooled a 7.8 lb. rainbow on a nightcrawler on the east side of lake.

Roy Nabriga enticed a 6.15 lb. and 5.02 lb. trout with Power Bait on the east side of lake. Nick Narasakio caught a 6.6 lb. rainbow on Power Eggs at the east side of lake.

Matilde Quiroga caught a 6 lb. trout on a nightcrawler/Power Bait combo on the lake's east side. Robert Funkner caught a 6.12 lb. trout at Channel Point Dock.

The park district planted 500 pounds of rainbows and the CDFW stocked 1,000 pounds the week of February 3.
