(Lafayette) Moisture has come back to Lafayette Reservoir and fishing has kept steady as regular trout plants continue.

“We had another anonymous fisher pull in a rainbow trout most likely well over 7 pounds,” said Soehl Knkade at Lafayette Reservoir. “Not usually noted as a successful place to catch, fishing at our disabled-access dock to the north of the visitor center has had some decent activity, as one fisher caught his limit on just a Kastmaster.”

Temperatures have dropped for the water surface, making the reservoir nearly homogenous with 49.7 degrees Fahrenheit at 30 feet and 50.4 degrees at the surface. Siince the main body of water is still about the same temperature, fishing should be about the same.

“Mt Lassen planted 2000 pounds yesterday, giving us another boost in activity, but we may see a significant decrease in plant sizes if the current wet weather patterns don’t continue,” Knkade added.
