Kokanee And Macks Provide Limit Style Action
This is an exciting time to visit Lake Tahoe. Both the lake’s mackinaw and kokanee are on solid bites. Limits are the rule for visiting anglers most days. The only decision you’ll have to make is whether you want salmon or lake trout?
Captain Scotty of Tahoe Sportfishing has been hooking his clients up with big numbers of macks and ‘kokes while working the lake’s south end. Several larger than average macks were caught aboard Scotty’s boat this week, but the biggest was a beautiful 17 pounder.
Gene St. Denis of Blue Ribbon Sportfishing reported multiple limit catches this week. Gene is working Dollar, Sugar Pine and Calneva Points with minnows and dodgers. The average fish run 3 to 6 pounds, but when fishing with Gene fish into the teens and twenties are a constant possibility.
Mickey Daniels of Mickey’s Big Mack Charters has been busy working Carnelian Bay. Most of the fish Daniels has been seeing run 4 to 6 pounds. His clients have been keeping some fish for the table. The rest are being tagged and released.
Rick Kennedy of Tight Lines Guide Service continues to enjoy red hot kokanee action while working the lake’s south end.
“I’ve been pulling pink Uncle Larry’s spinners tipped with Fire Corn behind Sep’s dodgers for limits of salmon averaging 14 inches. If you want to experience this hot Tahoe kokanee bite, you should come soon. The fish are starting transform for the spawn,” tipped Kennedy.Back To Reports
