Shore anglers and boaters are experiencing top-notch trout fishing at Lake Amador as the lake management continues daily plants.
“We’re planting 1,000 pounds every day from Monday through Friday,” said Kathy Isaac at the Lake Amador Resort. “Anglers are finding the best action on white garlic PowerBait and Wooly Buggers, Rapalas, Kastmasters and Roostertails in the top 3 feet. The best place to bank fish is off the dam.”
Kris Knittel of Sacramento landed 8 lb. 3 oz. caught by of Sacramento in Sacramento Jackson Creek firetiger Rapalas. Jake Major of Jackson landed an 8 lb. 3 oz. trout while fishing a black Wooly Bugger from a float tube.
The water level is still 60 feet down.
