Location: Don Pedro Reservoir,
“Trout action at Don Pedro remains strong,” said Monte Smith of Gold Country Sportfishing. “The only thing we are missing is rain – but action isn’t missing a beat right now.”
“Dropping water is changing the topography – coves we are working now was underwater structure last year. We continue to work sideplaners with spoons and nightcrawlers into large coves and working points for solid 10-20 fish days,” he stated.
Smith's latest trip to the lake produced a total of 17 rainbows to 17 inches. The anglers trolled with Chucker T lures in a variety of colors in the top 15 feet of water.
“Bass action remains tough at Pedro,” reported Manny Basi at The Bait Barn. “Drop shotting and dart-heading shad pattern plastics is producing some action – but not a lot. Shore action for trout is strong – anglers are tossing crawler/marshmallow combos under bobbers in the Moccasin area.”
