Night fishing for rainbow trout, crappie and channel catfish has picked up at Lake Amador as the weather continues to heat up. The best action is for the crappie, which are hitting jigs, worms and minnows around the docks.
Todd of Sacramento caught and released a 6 lb. largemouth bass while using a Dead Ringer worm in the Jackson Arm. Daniel Delgado of El Dorado also bagged a 3.9 lb. trout while fishing by the spillway with green garlic PowerBait. reported Kathy Issac at Lake Amador Resort.
“We’re still planting trout and we hope to keep stocking them through Memorial Day weekend as long as the water temperature is cool enough,” she added.
The lake level is currently 31 feet from maximum pool and the boat launching facilities are in full operation.
