Nov. 1, 2012 Bullards Boaters Bet On Live Baits

(Dobbins) Fall hasn’t quite hit the region, but anglers in the know are starting to change tactics and are finding live baits a pretty good bet for Bullards Bar bass.
“Live minnows and crawdads are doing real well at Bullards,” reported John Harris at Johnson’s Bait and Tackle. “They are hitting the live baits hard, but anglers will also find that wacky-rigged plastics in craw colors will produce. Fish are on the move and anglers will find them from shallow water down to thirty feet deep, across main lake points.”
“Limits are still coming from Englebright,” stated Lisa Rogers at Skipper’s Cove Marina. “Anchored up or bank anglers seem to be doing better than most; apparently the fish prefer it slow right now. Few anglers are hitting the water, but those that are fishing, are seeing limits in a few hours. We expect our pens to be filled with trout next week, which we will fatten up over the next few months and release next spring.”
Bullards Bar is at 61% capacity, while Englebright stands at 92% of capacity.
