Location: Berryessa Reservoir,
Lake Berryessa is known as a good winter bass lake - and this year is proving to be no exception. Boaters have experienced very good bass fishing while drop shotting with plastics or spooning at depths to 40 feet throughout the lake.
The key is to find the shad. If you can find the shad on your electronic graph, you can ambush the bass. A mixture of spotted, largemouth and spotted bass are available for the winter angler.
Trout fishing has slowed down on Berryessa, due to storm inflows. Other species like catfish have improved with the recent storms. Fish the north end of the lake in Putah or Pope creeks. Baits include night crawlers, frozen shad, chick livers, or mackerel for your best success.
The water level has stabilized at 414.70 feet or 25.3 feet below the Glory Hole Spillway.Back To Reports
