Species: Stripers,
Location: San Joaquin Delta,
Got up this morning at 4:30am, met with friends at 5 and made the trek to Brannon Island rec area. Got on the water right around 6:00. started at the west bank and trolled shallow towards the power lines, after about an hour one of the rods starts screaming. Fight the fish and end up with a beauty of a fish in the 10-12 pound range.
Start trolling again, and after another two or so hours we pick up a second fish, maybe 8-9 pounds.
Trolled for another two or so hours for nada, then switched to bait, anchored just above the Rio Vista bridge for a bit, got a few bites and one shaker.
We only trolled shallow, both fish came on P-line predators with a worm tail. Weather was great, and so was the company, the fish were not plentiful, but the ones we found were nice quality. Water temp was roght around 55.5-55.8, should be real good fishing real soon.
Cheers!!!
