Seon and I got together to do a striper troll. After making our way to Rio Vista via the hwy 12 & 160 traffic jam, we launched at Sandy Beach and because of the wind we went to the old Sac river. We trolled our usual areas for no love, up past the bridge and about half way to Walnut Grove and back to the mouth. By that time the wind had laid down and we went back to the west bank. Water again was dirty, constantly having to clear the line and lures. Then to Horseshoe Bend where it was a little better. Trolled shallow running Yozuri’s and I finely get hit, a 17 inch striper, back it goes. A few minutes later in the same area I get a better one, about 5 lbs, WOO-HOO, in the box it goes. Worked that area for a while, Seon stick’s a short one. A little while later I get hit, this time it has a lot more weight and is pulling the drag, I’m gaining some line when it comes to the surface behind the boat, it’s a nice salmon. After some give and take it spit’s the hook, oh well!
We trolled the bend for a couple hours more and the wind started kicking up, so we called it a day.
Another day on the water with a good friend! Thanks again Seon!!
