Salmon Bite Accelerates For River Anglers
“The salmon fishing has gotten really good up here in the Red Bluff area,” disclosed Al Brown of Al Brown’s Guide Service. “We’ve been catching fish every time we hit the river and almost all the fish we’ve landed have weighed 15 pounds or more.”
“I know some guys have been doing really well with plugs, but I’m still relying on roe. I’m just dragging roe and it’s working, but it helps to have really good roe,” added Brown.
Captain Rick Kennedy of Tight Lines Guide Service has been fishing down river near Hamilton City and he’s putting his client on consistent limits.
“I’m catching most of my fish on T-55 Flatfish, but I’ve been getting some each day on Pautzke cured roe too. The fish I’ve been getting have been running 15 to 30 pounds, but there are much bigger fish around. Big John got fish that went 36 and 40 pounds this week,” reported Kennedy.
Mike Bogue of Mike Bogue’s Guide Service has been enjoying limit-style fishing for big kings between Red Bluff and Redding.
“Once again the pattern hasn’t changed much,” disclosed Bogue. “Early in the morning I’m hitting fish on Flatfish. After that I switch over to Pautzke cured roe teamed with Trokar Hooks. The fish are running large. The smaller fish run 12 to 15 pounds and we are seeing lots of fish in the 20 to 30 pound class.”Back To Reports
