Sept. 6, 2012 Lake Will Close For Season On September 30

Location: Topaz Lake,

You don’t have much time left to fish Topaz Lake this year,  since the lake closes to fishing on September 30. Fishing will reopen on January 1, 2013.

“Smallmouth and largemouth bass fishing continues to be good even with recreational boating activity such as water skiers and jet skies, according to the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW). “Anglers have reported most of their luck using Rapalas near the rocks.”

Expect to hook bass in the 1 to 2 pound range, with a few larger bucketmouths and bronzebacks mixed in.

“The water temperatures are still very warm, so most of the trout fishing has moved into the deep water. Boaters are still catching fish trolling with flashers and bait. We haven’t received any reports on bank fishing lately,” NDOW added.
