The salmon are showing in good numbers on the Sacramento from Verona all of way to Chico.
“It’s pretty good fishing, but it’s not lights out,” said Scott Feist of Feisty Fish Guide Service on Saturday, September 1 “ We hooked seven salmon today, landing three in the area north of Ord Bend. The fish averaged 15 to 17 pounds, but we lost one big fish that probably went 40 pounds. All fish were caught drifting/bouncing Pautzke cured eggs.”
On the previous day, Feist reported “very solid” fishing, stating, “We landed five and missed several other bites. All of the fish were big and beautiful.”
Kevin Santos from Santa Rosa, Dan Chavez from Cotati and Mark Elder from Chico had a blast catching six chinooks ranging from 16 to 21 pounds on Friday, August 31 during an angling adventure with John Enos of Big John’s Guide Service. “They were back trolling my Klingons with sardine wrappers,” he stated. “They lost four other fish before they got the sixth one in the boat.”
Chris Spade reported hooking 10 and landing two salmon weighing 16 and 20 pounds while anchored up with Kwikfish on September 1 in the Tisdale area, according to Bob Boucke of Johnson’s Bait and Tackle.
Josh, the grandson of Dennis Davis, caught his first-ever salmon, a 23 pounder while trolling Blue Fox spinners at Tisdale on September 1 with Bob Boucke. A previous trolling adventure in the Tisdale area by Boucke produced two salmon weighing 15 and 18 pounds.Back To Reports
