Location: San Francisco Bay,
Interest remains high for striped bass and halibut in the city, while others search out perch and crab.
Anglers tossing lures were catching halibut and a few striped bass along various piers, according to Stephanie Scott at Gus' Discount Tackle.
"Bait is working, but a lot of guys are buying hair raisers, Krocodiles, Kastmasters and Pencil Poppers here at the shop," she said. "Try fishing around the Fort Point, and Fort Baker piers.”
Across the bay, Scott also noted that anglers at Berkeley Pier were also catching halibut and striped bass. Perch fishing interest remained slow, and others continued to try for crab at the city piers.
"The perch are there but no one is really going for them. There's still a lot of rock crabs at Van Ness Pier," she said.
