Spoons Entice Bass And Salmon
It’s spooning time for black bass on Folsom Lake, though few anglers are going out because of the 5 mph speed limit in effect on the reservoir now.
“Anglers are doing well on bass while spooning with Blade Runner Duh Spoons in the main body and forks,” disclosed Allen Fong at Fisherman’s Warehouse. “One friend also landed an 8 lb. king salmon while spooning.”
Rainbow trout and king salmon fishing should improve as the water temperature cools down and the annual fall turnover takes place. Fishing for bank anglers can be as good as it is for boaters when this happens, since the fish can be found close to shore in shallow water around the lake.
Shore anglers in search of trout and salmon should toss out PowerBait, nightcrawlers and minnows in the Brown’s Ravine and Granite Bay areas.
Folsom Lake is holding only 344,109 acre feet of water 35 percent of capacity and 64 percent of average. The water level is 394.52 feet above sea level.Back To Reports
