(Smith River) All good things must come to an end and the steelhead season on the Smith and Chetco Rivers is winding down.
“The last little storm fired the place up with a mixed bag of fresh fish as well as it has moved some downrunners down,” said Phil Desautels of Phil’s Smiling Salmon Guide Service. “Fishing has has been pretty good on both rivers.”
He added, “We have another small storm forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday. This could be it - the last of the steelheading for the season.”
Drift boaters are side drifting roe and fish pills on both rivers to entice the steelhead.Back To Reports
