Warm temperatures and mild wind continue to draw anglers to the area, where sturgeon and striped bass are providing excellent action.

Striped bass continue to be a top bet for anglers working Decker Island, Sherman Island and Collinsville according to Jason Sheppard of Rio Vista Bait and Tackle.

"Sardines, pileworms and mudsuckers are doing well, and there's a lot of bigger stripers in the area right now," he tipped. "The sturgeon fishing is ok in the same area, but they're doing really well down towards Pittsburg and the Mothball fleet."

"Locally they're catching a few, and there's a lot of sturgeon up in Cache, but ita been slow," he related.

In between sturgeon and striped bass, Sheppard also related to a decent bite on starry flounder. "A lot the guys are hooking into them with shrimp and pile worms," he said.
