Target Bass With Live Bait And Drop Shot Rigs
If you want to catch fish, the top prospect at both Bullards Bar and Englebright reservoirs is black bass.
“The bass bite at Englebright has been pretty good this past week,” stated Mike Torres at Skippers Cove Marina.. “Live bait and artificials are both producing. Better bass areas have been Hogsback Ravine and the Joe Miller launch. “
Trout have been doing better upriver in the no-ski zone for trollers using flashers and crawlers. “The skiers are gone for the year – so anglers will find the lake to themselves – come out and enjoy a perfect day on Englebright,” Torres disclosed.
“Bass are the best bet at Bullards Bar,” revealed Billy at Emerald Cove Marina. “The best action has been with drop shotters using tequila sunrise colored plastics and swimbaits in bluegill colors. Bigger fish will be staging in the 30-40 foot depths with smaller bass shallower. Kokanee are pretty much done for the year and trout are waiting for turnover before they kick off a good fall bite.”
Bullards Bar is at 58% capacity, while Englebright stands at 92% of capacity.Back To Reports
