Target Offshore Structure For Bass
If you want to catch smallmouth and largemouth bass as the water level at Trinity Lake drops, your top prospect is to fish offshore structure.
“Fish drop shot rigs, Senkos and Gitzits in deep water on offshore structure,” advised Tim Brady at Trinity Outdoors. “Anglers are hooking a mixture of smallmouth and largemouth bass off the dredger piles of the north end of the lake.”
The dropping water level has slowed the rainbow trout fishing down also, although trollers and bank fishermen are both hooking fish. “A lot of guys are going up the tributaries, including the upper Trinity, East Fork, Stewarts Fork and Swift Creek, to target rainbows,” said Brady. Fishermen are employing an array of salmon eggs, Power Eggs, nightcrawlers, spinners, spoons and flies.
