Location: Sacramento River- Middle,

While the sturgeon fishing has been tough most days, Rob Reimers of Rustic Rob's Guide Service reported a great night of fishing on the Sacramento River on January 25., catching 3 sturgeon in the Tisdale area.

"The first was 62" at 6:30 pm," said Reimers. "The second came 45 minutes later and was 67". The third a keeper measuring 52", came at 10:30 pm. Who knows how many I could have caught if I had kept fishing?"

"I caught two on ghost shrimp and nightcrawler combo, and one on sardines with Bang crawdad scent," stated Reimers.

“One guy reported catching a 53 inch sturgeon in the Colusa area,” reported Bob Boucke at Johnson’s Bait and Tackle. “Others have reported hooking sturgeon off Second Beach in Knights Landing. Most of the fish are oversized – there aren’t many legal fish showing.”
