Trollers Work West Bank For Stripers
Striped bass and salmon are good bets for valley anglers in the main river, while others continue to focus on bass and catfish in slower moving sloughs.
Trollers were working the west bank of the Sacramento River for stripers, while mudsuckers are the ticket for bait fishing success, according to Kang Gervinder at Rio Vista Bait and Tackle.
"A few fish came into the shop today from 20 to 30 inches. There's been a few people trolling south of the bridge, but the fish that came in today were caught around the ferry in Steamboat Slough," he tipped.
Salmon anglers were noted as having fair luck by Gervinder, with most anglers concentrating their efforts around the Isleton area. "Silvertrons are working around Vieira’s Resort,” noted Gervinder.
Other anglers continued to have success on bass and catfish around Brannan Island Park. "They're catching bass on worms and spinners, and catfish on clams and chicken livers," he said.Back To Reports
