Location: Folsom Lake,
Few anglers have been trying Folsom Lake for kings, rainbow trout, black bass or catfish with the cold weather the Sacramento area has been experiencing the past two weeks. One of the few to try the lake was Jordan Harvey of Colfax.
"I enjoyed a beautiful day on Folsom," said Harvey. "We landed a very nice 17 inch king salmon as well as 2 planter rainbow trout while trolling near the dam."
"The lake is still fishable even after the recent storms. Try spinners or spoons in bright colors especially pinks and oranges down to 40 feet," he advised.
Among the better lures include Wiggle Hoochies and Speedy Shiners. Nightcrawlers, top lined behind a dodger are also very effective when fishing Folsom Lake.
Folsom Lake is at 368.36 feet in elevation, 97.44 feet from full. The reservoir is holding 205,868 acre feet of water, 21 percent of capacity and 44 percent of the 10 year average.Back To Reports
