Trout Limits Common This Winter

Species: Trout
Location: Rancho Seco Lake,

Trout fishing continues to be “excellent” in the full waters of Rancho Seco Reservoir, said Ron Calvert at the Rocky Mountain Recreation Company.

“Many fishermen have limited out in short order lately,” said Calvert. “We had two 1,000 pound plants of rainbows this week, so the fish abound.”

Terry Ray of Elk Grove demonstrated his angling prowess by catching a five fish limit of trout to 2 pounds while dunking PowerBait across from the office.

Likewise, Mark Sudlatt of Sacramento had a great day when he landed five rainbows to 2.5 pounds in just one hour. “He garlic PowerBait across from the office,” said Calvert.
