Wind Makes Fishing Tough
There are some quality bass to be caught at Folsom Lake, but windy weather has made fishing difficult.
"My son, Lucas, and I fished for a couple of hours one morning this week, but it was too windy to fish successfully," said Daren Everett of Citrus Heights. "Lucas landed one 3 lb. largemouth while drop shotting with a green pumpkin worm at 15 feet deep in the South Fork. We had two other bites."
If you want to hook king salmon or rainbow trout, troll with shad, Speedy Shiners and other lures near the dam or in the forks at 40 to 80 feet deep. The rainbows are quality holdovers to 19 inches, while salmon go up to 6 pounds.
Folsom Lake is holding 521,546 acre feet of water, 67 percent of capacity and 53 percent of average. The lake level is 419.21 feet in elevation, 46.79 feet from full.
