    Eric, run over to Sonoma and catch anything then take that to the river and clean them on the bank. Use fish guts for bait and you wont be able to keep them off your hook. Just make sure you're not in the estuary and you're golden.

    I catch them using freshwater clams on the feather but im not sure what the regs are for bait on the russian. That's all i have experience with them consistency wise.

    Catching Hardheads on the Russian

    Not sure if this is the right place for this, but my buddy and i went shad fishing the other day and fish were jumping everywhere. He said they were called hardheads. The only thing they bit on was a pink shad dart. Any tips on catching these? I want to take my son out with me but he'll get bored and these seem to be in really high numbers.
