Trout Lead Winter Angling Parade

IONE – The trout bite has shifted into high gear at Lake Amador as the lake management continues planting trout on a weekly basis.

“We released 800 lbs. today, which had the first set of 100 tagged trout to start our annual derby,” reported Lee Lockhart at the Lake Amador Resort. “Some were Blues but most were Golds and had a few Cutbows mixed in.”

“The last storms brought in enough precipitation to bring the lake up 6 feet putting us at 14’ from full and still rising. Yes, this also came with some muddy water and debris so the clarity isn’t what it was and there’s a bit of floating matter in areas,” Lockhart stated.
