Bass Are Biting in Shallow Water
SACRAMENTO – If you want to catch black bass, now is the time target all three species at Lake Berryessa.
“We’re catching and releasing an average of 10 to 15 and up to 20 bass per day at Berryessa,” said Don Paganelli of Paganelli of Paganelli’s Bass Fishing Experience. “The fish are a mixture of smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass averaging 2 pounds each and going up to 4 pounds. The fish are in all stages of the spawn.”
Paganelli and his anglers have been throwing Keitech swimbaits, rip baits, spinners and tubes in varying depths. The top lure color patterns have been pond smelt, electric shad and green pumpkin with red flake....
