Good News: California’s 2026 ocean salmon season scheduled to open on April 11 from Pigeon Point south

SACRAMENTO - The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Council) adopted three alternative options for 2026 ocean salmon fisheries off Washington, Oregon, and California, now available for public review, at its March meeting. The Council will make a final decision on salmon seasons at its next meeting on April 8-12, 2026.

Detailed information about season starting dates, areas open, and catch limits for the three options are available on the Council’s website at www.pcouncil.org.
