Lake closes February 28, reopens Memorial Weekend.

Tim Noxon of Fish Traveler Guide Service gave us this report: The trout bite was very solid prior to last storm. The best areas were the West side of lake. Shrimp Island down to Wildcat Point. Trollers were using Thomas Buoyant spoons in red/gold and red/copper, along with Excel and Needlefish spoons. They were top lining and using downriggers down to 8-15 ft deep at 1.8 to 2.2 mph. Up at the Youth Camp on the east side of mid lake, trollers were doing very well on watermelon and motor oil grubs. .
